Haltemprice 10km October 30th (Hull)....we survived!

Original post - Team RCC will be running in the Haltemprice 10km on Sunday 30th October in Hull. It's been a while, it won't be pretty, but there's training to be done for some charity races coming up in winter!

UPDATE - We did it, some faster than others but we did it! We love this kind of event, tons of people all raring to go with a real sense of community buzz from the runners, cheering bystanders and even the patient traffic.

My good friends Matt and Dom joined me for this one. Dom was the chief electrical mastermind behind our roastery build and is the ongoing electrician here at River City Coffee. Matt is a keen runner, coffee consumer and all around nice chap whenever things are going on at River City HQ. Needless to say he pasted us finishing the, unexpectedly, hilly course in around 43 minutes. I came a glorious 2nd at around 54 minutes with Dom making sure the 3rd place spot had a name in just under an hour.

We're already looking for the next thing to put our names down for and will try to find some way of working coffee into it! This time the prize was a commemorative mug...mine now serving as a daily reminder that my body isn't as young as my mind wants it to be. At least it's full of the beautiful brown stuff to make sure the mouth drinking from it is smiling :)
